Requesting a New Root Password on Linux Servers

Please note that this feature only works on Linux-based servers with an unencrypted disk.

In this section you can request a new root password in case you have forgotten your current one. To do this, the server must both be using a Linux distribution and be powered off. Once these conditions are met, you can click the "Request password" button at the right and your new password will be displayed. This password will only be displayed once and is not stored by netcup.
